Zhang Xiaodong, male, native of Lujiang, Anhui Province. Professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Philosophy, Nanjing University, Ph.D. in Philosophy. He is a member of the writing team for the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee’s Reader on the Socialist Core Value System, a specially invited researcher at Research Center for the Sinification of Marxism in Jiangsu Province, and a specially invited researcher at the Research Center for Socialist Core Value System of Jiangsu Province. He also serves as an Executive Director of Jiangsu Confucianism Association. He previously served as Vice President of the Party School of the Wuxi Municipal Committee. In 2002, he was selected as a candidate for the Jiangsu “333 Project” for talent development. His main research areas include Marxist Ethics, comparative studies of Chinese and Western Ethics, and the study of Ethics in contemporary China. He has published over 100 academic papers, several of which have been reprinted in People’s Digest and Renmin University Reproduced Materials. He has completed research projects including one for the Jiangsu Social Science Planning Program and one for the National “985” Phase II Project; he has participated in major national commissioned research projects and led one sub-project. He has also led and completed the National Twelfth Five-Year Key Publishing Plan project Revisiting the Marxist Classics and the General Project of the National Social Science Fund, A Study on the Two Transformations in the Development of Young Marx's Humanistic Thought. His research achievements have been recognized with multiple awards, including the National Book Award, the First Prize of the Jiangsu Social Science Conference, the Third Prize of Jiangsu Social Sciences, the Jiangsu “Five-One Project” Award, the Wuxi “Five-One Project” Award, and the Nanjing University Young Faculty Humanities Research Originality Award.
